Practice makes perfect

April 30th, 2009

The B’s had a public practice last Saturday at Ristuccia Memorial Arena in Wilmington. There was quite a crowd!

P Bruins keep on rollin’

April 30th, 2009

The B’s advanced to the semi finals and now hold a 1-0 lead in the series after beating the Worcester Sharks in Providence 3-2. The B’s won thanks to goals from Marty St. Pierre who saw time in Boston this year, Brad Marchand and Lucic Crew favorite and Providence captain Jeremy Reich.

The B’s advanced to semi’s after dispatching Portland in five games. They won last Friday night thanks to the game winner by Peter Shaefer who saw time with Boston last season. Rask has continued to show that he is NHL ready with his rock steady performance between the pipes.

The Lucic Crew should be representing at the Dunk on May 8th!

A sign of things to come?

April 28th, 2009

Well, with the Ducks’ win over the Thornton Sharks last night, the B’s are now the highest seeded team left in the playoffs.

Should they win the Eastern Championship they’ll have home ice throughout the playoffs!

No jinx!

Overmatched

April 23rd, 2009

I liked Gord’s quote the best to sum up the whole series: “The Canadiens are as overmatched as Komisarek is against Lucic.”

Luch dropped Komisarek in the second, and then kept his cool as Komisarek punched his ticket out of the game with some face washing and other crap in the third.

The B’s looked strong all night and once they got a goal they went right for the jugular.

Timmy made some awesome stops when called upon to do so.

T-E-A-M! 3-0

April 21st, 2009

Another awesome game by the B’s. No matter the flurry of offense the Habs threw at them nothing seemed to rattle the B’s too much tonight.

Bitz was exactly what the B’s needed him to be. No one could tell that this was his first post season game.

While on the topic of post season firsts… congrats Thorty! Shawn Thornton got his first post season goal of his career tonight (with a helper to Bitzy!). It’s a bit comical that Bergergon gets into his first career fight in the same series that Thornton gets his first career post season goal.

And of course, it almost goes without saying, but there were numerous HUGE saves by Thomas throughout the game to keep the Habs and their fans out of it.

To keep with the Mortal Kombat theme…. “Finish him!”

3 games to NONE!

April 21st, 2009

21.0 seconds left in the game and the fair weather fans are fleeing the game. They boo’d the American National Anthem and now they are Booing their own team. Class ladies and gentlemen.. nothing but class. OLE THAT!

With a 5-1 win over Portland, the Providence Bruins take the lead in their first round playoff series.

Scoring was lead by Sobotka as he had four points in the game including a goal.

Providence looks to extend the lead to 3-1 on Thursday in Portland.

Lucic Suspended!

April 20th, 2009

For the shot he took on Lapierre at the end of game 2.

Read the full story from NHL.com right here.

Unfortunately we know this played right into the Habs’ hands. This is exactly what they were trying to do.

And another story on the suspension from CBC. It’s interesting to note the second story at the end calls scrums and such at the end of games “bullying” and “stupid hockey.” Well why were there no repercussions for the Habs’ actions after game 1?

On that note it’s Bitzy time – time to show Montreal that you can be the same wrecking ball Lucic is!
