Its been a long time since there has been an update, but what better way to come back to the blog is being able to report a Lucic GOAL! Nice finish Looch. Also noteworthy is the fact that Tukka Rask assisted on the goal for his first NHL assist/point. Rask

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has placed forward Marc Savard on long term injured reserve (broken left foot) and has recalled forward Trent Whitfield from Providence on an emergency basis. Savard is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury

It was a team effort last night. The Bruins came to play and the Canadiens didn’t. A few things worth mentioning from the game. First, Timmy Thomas with an assist. Secondly Patrice Bergeron takes on Josh Gorges (both 6′ 1 and 190lbs). Patrice won that one hands down. I don’t think I have ever seen Patrice with that level of anger and passion. Third point is that Lucic lost his cool last night and took a bad high sticking call. Because of that he was penalized with a game misconduct with an attempt to injure. Reports that I have seen on the net state that Lucic may be suspened until review by the NHL. Lets hope that gets squared away early Monday and he is available to play Monday night.

My voice is still hurting from last nights game, my hands are sore from all the clapping and high-fives that were going on last night. There were an awful lot of Canadians fan there last night rooting on the Habs with the chant of GO-HABS-GO, which was quickly followed up by HABS-SUCK. We can’t forget the Ole-Ole followed by the Your Gay – Your Gay. Section 314 was rocking last night! What a great evening! LOL.
All I can say is if Boston and Montreal happen to meet in the playoffs the city of Boston and Montreal respectively should call out the troops, because its going to get a little rough!

As for the brush with fame… After the game we went on over to the Boston Sports Grill for a bite, not too long after we sat down who shows up? None other than Tim Thomas. He was all dressed up and was hanging with a couple of other guys that I didn’t recognize. He sat one table away from us. The crow in the bar started chanting TIMMY-THOMAS …. Tim was very cool as usual, he signed some autographs and took some photos. Even for a few Montreal fans.

There is a great article on the front page of Boston.com this morning about Lucic and his rise to the NHL. There is some interesting tidbits there as well… “accomplished alto saxophonist equally adept at Beethoven and Coltrane” Wow, who knew!
Check out the story here and the photos here.

The team will practice at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, MA from 11:30 – 12:15 p.m., with Bruins players available at approximately 12:20 p.m. and Head Coach Claude Julien available at approximately 12:50 p.m.
So this is interesting. Do you hold a conference to say, we are not making any moves or do you hold it to announce big changes? Who is coming to the Bruins? Jay Bouwmeester? Who is leaving? Fernandez? Kessel?
The Ottawa Sun was reporting that the Anaheim Ducks will trade Chris Pronger to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Phil Kessel and possibly more — Ottawa Sun
Derek Morris is also almost certain to be traded, with the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils possibly interested — Ottawa Sun
What have you heard?

Luch and Savy are currently missing from the bench at the start of the third period. If I had to guess Luch is either getting stitches on that hand or he broke it trying to punch through Mike Browns head. As far as Savard goes one can only speculate that the hit he took from Parros is causing a little discomfort. Lets hope they both come back tonight.

Wow, first off, what the hell are they thinking with those jerseys. Those have to be the single most horrific uniforms in history. Secondly, the Canadiens can bring any thug they want (HENRY) and they will be dispatched right quick. Thornton continues to shine with Bitz, could he be the next 7th player?

Awesome game tonight to be at. It was nice to see a kid like Rask shine as bright as he did. That seems to be the theme this year with Wheeler, Hunwick and now Rask. Both teams had chances to score more… but Rask and Lundquvist seemed on top of their games. It would have been nice to see more checking by the B’s, but a win is a win.
It was also wicked awesome to see Renee sing the nation anthem. I hadn’t seem him sing it live since last playoffs.
Oh, and seeing her wasn’t bad either:

Why is she not wearing a Bruins leotard?
