lucic took on orr tonight and took some heavy shots, from where we are sitting it looks like Luch may have broken his nose again. he left the ice and didnt return. lets see if he is back for thd second.
** Update **
There is a discussion going on over at the 98.5 Sports Hub … Cherry says Lucic quit and hid behind the linesman.. Interesting observation. When I saw it live it looked like Lucic broke his nose and backed off to protect himself and thats when the refs stepped in.. Watch the video for yourself..

“Lucic scored his second goal in as many games when he tipped a Zdeno Chara shot past Mason at 12:10, making it a 3-2 game.” The biggest factor of the game was the effort Patrice put in. He tore it up with four assists. A playmaker+!
Nice job boys keep it up.

Its been a long time since there has been an update, but what better way to come back to the blog is being able to report a Lucic GOAL! Nice finish Looch. Also noteworthy is the fact that Tukka Rask assisted on the goal for his first NHL assist/point. Rask

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has placed forward Marc Savard on long term injured reserve (broken left foot) and has recalled forward Trent Whitfield from Providence on an emergency basis. Savard is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury
WOW! — All I can muster is WOW.

Its been a while since we have had an update. In that time Bruins nation has gone through some serious ups and downs. First a shaky and slow start to the season, the B’s look like they are having a really hard time finding themselves. They have been inconsistent at best. Its still early, lets hope they wake up and turn this bus around. The next big news item is that Lucic is out on long term injured reserve. He underwent successful surgery on his right index finger this past Sunday. He will miss at least 10 games. That sucks. Third, the popular Chuck Kobasew is now a member of the Wild. Who saw that coming? In return the B’s pick up a 2011 second-round pick, veteran forward Craig Weller, and the rights to fourth-round pick Alexander Fallstrom. A quick google on Weller shows
2007-2008 COYOTES 59 3 8 11 -7 80 0 0 1 72 4.2
2008-2009 WILD 36 1 2 3 -3 47 1 0 0 27 3.7
for the last couple of years. Not that impressive but he is a big boy. He comes in at 6′4 220lbs and 28 years old. Thats a big body to clean out the corners.
The final thing to note is that Bruins have recalled Vladimir Sobotka and Brad Marchand from Providence, this is a great opportunity for these two to make a spot for themselves on the B’s. I wish them well. It should be really exciting to watch the new guys the next few games.
What are you guys/girls thinking?

For the shot he took on Lapierre at the end of game 2.

Unfortunately we know this played right into the Habs’ hands. This is exactly what they were trying to do.
And another story on the suspension from CBC. It’s interesting to note the second story at the end calls scrums and such at the end of games “bullying” and “stupid hockey.” Well why were there no repercussions for the Habs’ actions after game 1?
On that note it’s Bitzy time – time to show Montreal that you can be the same wrecking ball Lucic is!

It was a team effort last night. The Bruins came to play and the Canadiens didn’t. A few things worth mentioning from the game. First, Timmy Thomas with an assist. Secondly Patrice Bergeron takes on Josh Gorges (both 6′ 1 and 190lbs). Patrice won that one hands down. I don’t think I have ever seen Patrice with that level of anger and passion. Third point is that Lucic lost his cool last night and took a bad high sticking call. Because of that he was penalized with a game misconduct with an attempt to injure. Reports that I have seen on the net state that Lucic may be suspened until review by the NHL. Lets hope that gets squared away early Monday and he is available to play Monday night.

Here’s some pics from Thursday. Here’s a YouTube video of Rancourt performing the national anthem.
Luch set the tone physically all night. Timmy was spectacular as usual. Axelsson looked like an All Star laying down some big hits and moving the puck all around the ice. All in all, other than some hiccups in the second period that was an awesome game.
The crowd was going nuts from the national anthem all the way till the fourth goal.
