P Bruins keep on rollin’

April 30th, 2009

The B’s advanced to the semi finals and now hold a 1-0 lead in the series after beating the Worcester Sharks in Providence 3-2. The B’s won thanks to goals from Marty St. Pierre who saw time in Boston this year, Brad Marchand and Lucic Crew favorite and Providence captain Jeremy Reich.

The B’s advanced to semi’s after dispatching Portland in five games. They won last Friday night thanks to the game winner by Peter Shaefer who saw time with Boston last season. Rask has continued to show that he is NHL ready with his rock steady performance between the pipes.

The Lucic Crew should be representing at the Dunk on May 8th!

The Providence Bruins took down the Portland Pirates 2-1 in game 2 of the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs.

Goals were scored by P-Bruins who have made significant appearances in Boston. The first was scored by Vladimir Sobotka and the game winner by Jeremy Reich.

It was a very physical game with the Pirates seeming to be outmuscling the B’s until the third. Sobotka was all over the ice hitting people and creating offense. He also received a 10 minute misconduct in the third.

All in all it was a great game with some great hockey being played the whole time.
